I'm Alexandra,

lover of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, homemade sourdough bagels, and kettle-cooked chips.

I grew up in a big and loud family. We were always too close for comfort and in each other's business. If any of us needed help with anything, we had to be there– willingly or not. That's how I got roped into photography. My older brother Marius needed someone to lug his camera equipment around at a wedding he was photographing. He even let me be the second shooter. Of course, I wanted to do my best. He was trusting me with such an important task, I wouldn't let him down. Over time, my skill improved and I actually enjoyed the process so much that I ventured out on my own.

Being in a different part of the country now, I often find myself browsing through old photos to feel my parents and siblings close to me. There are photos that have brought me to laughter and eventually gave way to tears. The feelings of intimacy, nostalgia, joy, and wonder that photographs bring cannot be conjured by mere memory alone. I would love to be able to document some memories for you as well; I know you will look back on them with fondness.
